Sociology of education is intended to help learners examine the relationship between education, society and Christian beliefs through analysis of the sociological, theological concepts & theories as applied in education teaching & learning process. This course is one of the major components of foundational courses in the field of education. Sociology of education is a more developed branch of sociology which examines an important social activity in social institutions e.g (schools, churches, families, hospitals etc). In the course of study, systematic observations are made on a social phenomenon, analyses, descriptions of education passed on in social institutions with regard to its social use and significance in society..
